Metallic Nails

Blinged-out metallic nails can be seen everywhere, from celebrities to the fashion elite. Here's a step by step tutorial for getting this star-studded manicure.

Step 1: Start with clean bare nails and make sure to trim and file your tips to get the freshest looking mani.


Step 2: Apply one coat of polish in a solid silver tone. I use Nicole by OPI in "Positive Energy". I find this one works best as a basecoat since it gives optimal shine to your nails.

 

Step 3: Complete the look by applying two coats of clear silver glitter nailpolish. Most glitter polishes have a built in topcoat, so there's no need to use one. I bought mine from Forever 21, but I also suggest using the new Nicole by OPI, "Make U Smile" from the Justin Bieber collection.

 

Et voila! You've got yourself a star-studded manicure! And the final touch? Layer on bulky blinged-out silver rings and watch the heads turn! 

Love Affair with Lanvin

One of my favorite accessories on the fall 2011 runways are the diamond encrusted floral statement pieces seen at Lanvin. The oversized rose bracelets are absolutely gorgeous, and worn over elbow length leather gloves creates a completely over the top glamourous look.

Seeing Stars at Dolce and Gabbana

I'm in love with the Fall 2011 Dolce and Gabbana colllection. The star print is a fun alternate to the polka dot trend, which has been seen everywhere this season including Marc Jacobs and Stella McCartney. I just bought a sheer navy blouse with white stars, so I'm very excited to pull that out for the warmer weather!

Balmain Creative Director Christophe Decarnin channels ninety seventies rockstar glamour in his Fall 2011 ready to wear collection. I absolutely die for the silver and black shimmering sequin jumsuits and the metallic skin tight pants. Leave it to Decarnin to deliver rockstar glam in its purest form.
