Rockin' Killer Curves With a Peplum Silhouette

I just bought this gorgeous two-tone blue top from the Rory Becca Collection at  Forever21. I absolutely love the peplum waist silhouette, and designers like Jason Wu, Vera Wang and Badgley Mischka have sent this style down the Spring 2012 runways. I also love how the back has a sexy cutout detail, and at only $21.80 this designer inspired look doesn't cost a fortune.

For day, I plan to wear this top with a high waisted black pencil skirt, black textured nylons and ballet flats. For a hot evening look, I'll pair it with a blue sequin mini that I already own, and a sexy pair of platform stilettos.

Love You Like A Lovesong

Just in time for Valentines Day, Sally Hansen has released these adorable love letter print nail stickers. Retailing for just under $10, the nail stickers really are worth the price. Not only are they available in the most covetable prints and designs, but they also last much longer than regular long-wear nail polishes and there's no pesky dry time.

The nail polish strips last up to ten days, and each package includes a cuticle stick, mini nail file, and two air-sealed packages of 8 nail polish strips. If you have shorter nails like me, you can cut each sticker in half to save the second package for future use. One key tip that I've learned from personal use of this product: Do not open the air-sealed package unless you are ready to wear the nail stickers, since they will dry out quickly after being opened.

It seems that as of late,  I've been completely obsessed with piling on different combinations of bracelets and bangles. Today I'm wearing a Pamela Love claw bracelet matched with a silver Aztec style bracelet and a black beaded and rhinestone bracelet (both from forever21).

Behind the Scenes...

These are some behind-the-scenes photos I took with my iPhone, during the last creative shoot I styled in December. I drew inspiration from the Roberto Cavalli Fall 2011 RTW Collection and amplified the theme with a hint of gothic romance. I chose to incorporate shades of burgundy and sapphire blue with black, and added a mix of different prints and textures since the color palette was so monochromatic. We used fans to get the windy effect, and for the very last look we used a smoke cone to create a dark and mysterious feeling. I wish that we could have used more of the smoke effect throughout the entire shoot, but I still love the way these pics turned out!

Today's Accessories Fix

The latest objects of my obsession are piled on wrist adornments in mixed sizes, colors and textures. I matched up my my rose-gold-tone Michael Kors watch with some authentic Indian bangles and a fuchsia enamel hinged bracelet from Forever21. I've been on quite an accessories shopping frenzy as of late, so I will post more photos very soon. Kisssss!

On-Air Cupcakes...YUM!

To celebrate the completion of our hardest semester yet, people from each class brought in some lovely treats, including these cute cupcakes that are on-air themed with a camera and a microphone. Such a pleasant surprise and a perfect treat to kick off the winter break! Yummmmm :)

Celestial Inspired Colors by ORLY

ORLY nail color in "Fowl Play" $7.50

ORLY nail color in "Ingenue" $7.50

Quo by ORLY in nail colors "Turquoise Moonlight", "Celestial Star", and "Night Sky" $10 each

Quo by ORLY in "Celestial Star" $10

I recently found out about the brand of nail polish called ORLY, and there are a few reasons why it’s now my absolute favorite.

I’m a huge fan of shimmery high-definition nail colors, and ORLY does it better than any other brand right now. I bought “Fowl Play” from the Birds of a Feather Collection, and “Ingenue” from the Holiday Soiree Collection. Both lacquers are so unique and super glimmery-shimmery, which is so perfect for the holiday season.

Proving their growing popularity, ORLY has released a range of nail colors in their recent collaboration with Shoppers Drug Mart makeup brand Quo. The collection is inspired by the starry-night sky, and I just bought a beautiful sapphire blue shade with subtle purple specks called “Celestial Star”.
I love the ORLY brand because they provide the best in irresistible metallic colors, but the most important benefit is that these polishes are free of DBP, toluene, and formaldehyde, all chemicals linked to cancer.

I have my eye on several colors to add to my growing collection of ORLY Nail Lacquers, including “Rococo A Go-Go” a gorgeous shimmering reddish-burgundy from the Mineral FX Collection, and “Night Sky” from the ORLY by Quo cosmic inspired collection. These sexy polishes make for perfect stocking stuffers this Christmas, and you can find holiday gift sets of three at Winner’s and Stylesense stores, right now.
